Disney+ debuted the first teaser trailer for “The Book of Boba Fett,” the new “Star Wars” spinoff series from Lucasfilm.

What is ‘The Book of Boba Fett’ about?

The new show will follow bounty hunter Boba Fett and mercenary Fennec Shand, who are “navigating the galaxy’s underworld when they return to the sands of Tatooine to stake their claim on the territory once ruled by Jabba the Hutt and his crime syndicate,” according to a Disney+ press release.

The new trailer doesn’t show us much or say a lot about the upcoming show. But it has an epic feel on the same level as “The Mandalorian.” It’ll be a fun spinoff story to end 2021 and kick off 2022.

Is ‘The Book of Boba Fett’ also ‘The Mandalorian’ Season 3?

No. The series was teased at the end of “The Mandalorian” Season 2 finale with an end-credits scene that showed Boba Fett taking over Jabba the Hutt’s palace. It appears the show will take off from there. It will be its own show, separate from “The Mandalorian.”

In some ways, the show looks like an alternate version of “The Mandalorian.” So if you’ve enjoyed that show, then you’ll probably like “The Book of Boba Fett.” That said, if you haven’t enjoyed “Mandalorian,” it’s unlikely you’ll enjoy this show.

“The Book of Boba Fett” stars Temuera Morrison and Ming-Na Wen. Executive producers include Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni, Robert Rodriguez, Kathleen Kennedy and Colin Wilson.

When does ‘Book of Boba Fett’ come out?

“Book of Boba Fett” will debut on Dec. 29.
