Who will Deron Williams face in a boxing match?

Former Utah Jazz star Deron Williams — known for fighting with the late former Utah Jazz coach Jerry Sloan — will take his argumentative talents to the boxing ring.

Per NBA reporter Shams Charania, Williams will fight on the undercard for the upcoming Jake Paul vs. Tommy Fury fight.

  • Former NFL running back Frank Gore is a rumored opponent for Williams, who is a two-time Olympic gold medalist and NBA All-Star.

We don’t know much about Williams’ boxing resume. But we can turn to his NBA stats for some insight into his potential aggressiveness.

Williams — who is 6-foot-3 and 200 pounds — committed 994 shooting fouls in his career and an additional 195 offensive fouls, according to Basketball Reference.

Williams, while playing for the Dallas Mavericks, was ejected from a game against the Boston Celtics in 2017 after arguing a call, ESPN reports.

  • He was given his first technical foul after intercepting a pass for official Justin VanDuyne. Williams started to argue with VanDuyne.
  • The second technical came after he bounced the ball hard with two hands after the first technical was called.

Williams has previously spent time on the golf course with NBA legend Michael Jordan, according to the Deseret News.
