Utah coronavirus updates: The latest COVID-19 news and case counts

Utah has seen 587,911 confirmed cases of COVID-19 with 3,457 total deaths as of Tuesday, according to the Utah Department of Health. That’s an increase of 1,153 cases since Monday. School-aged kids account for 233 of today’s newly announced cases. Fifteen new deaths were reported.

  • Total number of COVID-19 cases: 587,911
  • Total reported people tested: 3,915,515
  • Vaccines administered: 4,061,048
  • Total COVID-19 hospitalizations: 25,573
  • Current COVID-19 hospitalizations: 536
  • Total COVID-19 deaths: 3,457
  • Single-day high for reported cases: 4,672 (Dec. 31)
  • Single-day high for reported deaths: 30 (Dec. 17 and Jan. 21)

Globally, the novel coronavirus pandemic has now infected 257,469,528 and killed 5,158,211 people as of Tuesday, according to the World Health Organization.
