Utah coronavirus updates: The latest COVID-19 news and case counts

Utah has seen 610,681 confirmed cases of COVID-19 with 3,640 total deaths as of Friday, according to the Utah Department of Health. That’s an increase of 1,330 cases since Thursday. School-aged kids account for 229 of today’s newly announced cases. Eight new deaths were reported, with two occurring before Nov. 10.

  • Total number of COVID-19 cases: 610,681
  • Total reported people tested: 4,064,589
  • Vaccines administered: 4,310,671
  • Total COVID-19 hospitalizations: 26,542
  • Current COVID-19 hospitalizations: 536
  • Total COVID-19 deaths: 3,640
  • Single-day high for reported cases: 4,672 (Dec. 31)
  • Single-day high for reported deaths: 30 (Dec. 17 and Jan. 21)

Globally, the novel coronavirus pandemic has now infected 267,865,289 and killed 5,285,888 people as of Friday, according to the World Health Organization.
