“So, first off: I’m fine,” said ‘Jeopardy!’ champion Amy Schneider who was robbed at gunpoint.

Reigning “Jeopardy!” champion Amy Schneider took to Twitter this week to share she was robbed at gunpoint.

  • “So, first off: I’m fine,” she begins. “But I got robbed yesterday, lost my ID, credit cards, and phone.”

Schneider, an engineering manager in Oakland, California, qualified for the “Tournament of Champions” last month, according to NBC News.

The experience left her unsettled: “I then couldn’t really sleep last night, and have been dragging myself around all day trying to replace everything.”

The robbery occurred days after Schneider won the quiz show for the 21st consecutive time, breaking the previous record set by Julia Collins for the most wins by a woman.

As of Tuesday, Schneider has the 24th win under her belt, bringing her earnings total to $897,600, per CBC News.

The quiz show offered Schneider support. “We were deeply saddened to hear about this incident, and we reached out to Amy privately to offer our help in any capacity,” the show said, per the report.

Last month, she revealed the secrets behind her success: “I think a lot of it comes from doing crosswords for years, it’s given me practice at thinking of words as both a concept and a collection of letters at the same time,” per Deseret News.
