Here’s what to expect from ‘The High Republic’ moving forward

Star Wars” announced Tuesday the new phase of its ongoing novel and comic book series “The High Republic” — but the new phase will come with a twist.

“The High Republic” is an ongoing series set 200 years before the events of the prequel trilogy.

  • Books, comic books and young adult novels from the series have been released in waves, which have all been a part of the first phase.

Phase II — which will start its releases in October 2022 — will not follow the events of Phase I.

  • Instead, the second phase will be set 150 years before Phase I, meaning 350 years before “The Phantom Menace.”
  • “Phase II will follow a very familiar ‘Star Wars’ storytelling order and step into the past — 150 years in the past to be exact — for new tales that serve as prequels to what we’ve experienced so far,” according to StarWars.com.

So what’s going to happen in Phase II? The upcoming young adult novel “Star Wars: The High Republic: Mission to Disaster” will have key connections to the second phase, according to StarWars.com.
