For the second time this week, the Utah State Aggies football program has received a commitment from a wide receiver who has been at a Power Five school.

After Alabama wideout Xavier Williams announced his pledge on Wednesday, Maryland’s Brian Cobbs did so on Saturday via Twitter.

Unlike Williams, who played very sparingly at Alabama, the 6-foot-2, 210-pound Cobbs was relatively productive at Maryland.

Over four seasons there, Cobbs tallied 59 receptions for 880 yards with two touchdowns. In 2021, he finished with 25 receptions for 341 yards with one of those two scores.

Cobbs had announced on Jan. 1 that he was entering the transfer portal. He has one year of eligibility remaining as a graduate transfer, and thus should be immediately eligible to play for Utah State.
